The life work of a sexual health educator and researcher.

Professor Emerita Beverly Whipple

Dr. Whipple will review the past, present and future of her interdisciplinary research concerning women's sexual health. She will discuss how she became interested in sexuality education for health professionals and how that lead to conducting sexuality research. She will include her re-discovering and naming of the Grafenberg spot (G spot) and the phenomenon of female ejaculation. The adaptive significance of the G spot will be discussed, that is the strong pain blocking effect produced by anterior vaginal wall stimulation as well as during labor and childbirth.
