Dr Srilatha Balasubramanian

 


Dr B Srilatha MD, PhD, Diplomate (ABS, USA) Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University Hospital, National University of Singapore. Dr B Srilatha has a PhD in Sexual Medicine from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a post-graduate medical degree (MD) from Madras University (India). She is a certified Clinical Sexologist by the American Board of Sexology, USA. 

Based in Singapore, she works on the clinical and basic aspects of female and male sexual disorders at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.

Dr B Srilatha is an active member of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), representing the Communications Committee; Deputy Treasurer and Member of Executive and Scientific & Research Committees of the Asia Pacific Society for Sexual Medicine (APSSM). 

Dr B Srilatha is the Co-Editor of ISSM News Bulletin and Member, Publications Committee for the APSSM News Bulletin. Her breakthrough discovery on the role of hydrogen sulphide in the area of sexual medicine led to two prestigious international awards: Emil Tanagho Prize for Best Innovative Research at the 12th World Congress of Sexual Medicine in Cairo, Egypt (2006) and the Best of Top 10 Basic Science Papers Prize at the Annual Meeting of Sexual Medicine Society for North America, Las Vegas, USA (2011). 

Currently, she serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Journal of Sexual Medicine, the Official Journal of ISSM. She actively participates in the biennial meetings of both ISSM and APSSM and has a number of publications in leading international referenced journals. 

She is the Assistant Secretary-General of Asia-Oceania Federation for Sexology (AOFS) and the Vice-President of Singapore’s Society for the Study of Andrology and Sexology (SSASS).
