Challenges to recovery for severely wounded veterans of war

Prof. William Stayton MDiv, ThD, PhD

This presentation reports on sexual issues encountered by the severely wounded veterans returning from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, including those with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury through the "Road to Recovery" program. For four years, a group of sexuality professionals have met with individuals, couples, and families to help them to discover their challenging sexual potential.

Professor of Sexuality and Religion, Centre of Excellence for Sexual Health, Assistant Director and Professor of Community Health and Preventive Medicine, Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA, USA. In June 2011, Dr Stayton was awarded the Gold Medal for his lifetime contributions to the field of sexual health by the World Association for Sexual Health.
